Ep. 51: Libertarianism and Christianity

Over the last couple of years I’ve heard from a few different people that my Christian faith is at odds with my libertarian philosophy.  After all, they tell me, the Bible is full of violence!  And let’s not forget that both Jesus Christ himself and St. Paul both gave shockingly clear instructions to pay your taxes and obey government authorities.  To be sure, this is an area of study worth our time!

In this week’s episode, I’m talking with Nick Gausling, Executive Director of the Libertarian Christian Institute.  During the course of our conversation we discuss these topics and much more.  Take a listen to find out how expertly Nick answers my queries.

About the Guest:

Nick Gausling is Executive Director of the Libertarian Christian Institute.  He holds a B.A. in History and an M.A. in Christian and Classical Studies.  He has previously been a business executive, a consultant, and (regrettably) served in political party leadership. He is a serial entrepreneur and has co-founded several businesses in various fields involving finance, perishable goods wholesale/distribution, and transportation.
